How to read the table

A season is the months when the owner can call events. An event is one period when the program asks enrolled batteries to discharge. Each owner publishes its payment terms on its own page, so check the owner's page for the current figure.

Who pays and who enrolls you

The enrollment route differs by program. Eversource points to an enrollment link and a list of approved manufacturers. Con Edison enrolls through your service provider. San Diego Gas & Electric enrolls through your battery storage manufacturer, and the manufacturer pays participants. Ask your installer or battery maker which route your system uses.

Southern California Edison customers

SCE describes its Emergency Load Reduction Program as a seven-year pilot for 2021 to 2027. SCE's customer FAQ lists residential storage under an aggregator subgroup and points residential customers to Power Saver Rewards.

Where an Energy Router fits

Program eligibility and equipment compatibility are separate. A program owner sets who can enroll. The Energy Router works with the equipment on the compatibility list. FortisBC's Power Hours Rewards Program accepts applications for an Energy Router pilot. See the pilot. Join a VPP with a battery you own gives the enrollment steps.

Common questions.

What is a battery demand response program?

It is an arrangement, often run by a utility, that asks enrolled batteries to discharge during set events. The program sets the season, the event hours and any payment.

Can I join two programs at once?

Read the overlap rule. San Diego Gas & Electric does not allow its Rule 32 program at the same time as its battery program.

My program is not listed. What do I do?

Ask your utility or installer, and check your equipment in the compatibility checker.
