Night two
On September 19, 2026, we went back to the Outer Richmond for a second five-hour live stream. The camera stayed on the original pole, with a wide view and a close-up.
What was new
During a walk that night, the team also saw arcing at additional poles along the same overhead run. The cause of the arcing is unconfirmed. We record what we see and draw no conclusion from it.
How we watched
The team observed from a distance and stayed clear of the poles and the equipment on them. PG&E was notified. For a non-emergency concern, PG&E takes calls at 1-800-743-5000. For an emergency or a downed power line, stay clear and call 911.
Why it belongs in the field notes
Fieldwork is the series where Elastic Energy shares observations, device testing and research and development as the work happens. Fieldwork 001 opened the series the night before. Together they show how the team works: out where the grid is, watching closely, and handing what we see to the utility.
